hybrid laser relief prints Workshop & ExHiBition
The selected student/artists were tasked to create a composition, keeping in mind that they would apply digital and hybrid strategies to the oldest method of printmaking – the relief multiple. The technical and conceptual parameters were designed to negotiate what it means to work with both manual and digital applications in an effort to develop a visual vernacular that both upholds the history of relief prints, but also its compatibility with new technologies like laser engraving and image editing software. The exhibition aims to reimagine relief printing for the digital era fine art studio practice, to promote innovation and interdisciplinary studio production.
